Terms of Service
Last Updated: October 28, 2026
Welcome to Agate Rock (accessible via agaterock.com). By accessing our website, purchasing our natural mineral specimens, or engaging with our lapidary services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before finalizing any transaction.
1. Natural Stone & Authenticity Disclaimer
Every item sold on Agate Rock is a genuine, natural geological specimen. Because these are organic materials formed over millions of years, customers must acknowledge that:
- Visual Variations: No two natural stones are identical. Minor internal fractures, vugs, pockets, and color variations are natural characteristics of cryptocrystalline quartz and do not constitute product defects.
- Photography & Lighting: We photograph our agate rocks under professional lighting (often wet or backlit to display internal fortification lines and translucency). The appearance may vary slightly under standard room lighting.
2. International Orders, Currency, and Payments
All prices listed on our website are in US Dollars (USD) unless specified otherwise. We reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time due to shifting mineral rarity or market conditions.
By placing an order, you warrant that you are authorized to use the designated payment method (Credit Card, PayPal, or secure international wire transfer). We reserve the right to cancel any order if fraudulent activity or payment failure is suspected.
3. Global Logistics, Customs, and Import Duties
We provide worldwide insured shipping via premium international courier services. However, the international buyer assumes specific legal responsibilities:
- Customs & Duties: Any import taxes, customs duties, or clearance fees levied by your destination country are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
- Regulatory Compliance: It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that importing raw mineral specimens, thundereggs, or lapidary rough complies with the local environmental and customs laws of their respective country.
4. Shipping Damage & Insurance Claims
Natural crystals and polished cabochons are fragile masterpieces of geology. To protect your investment, all shipments are fully insured. In the rare event that a specimen arrives damaged during transit:
The buyer must notify us via support@agaterock.com within 48 hours of delivery. You must provide clear photographic and video evidence of both the broken stone and the original, unaltered packaging to initiate the insurance claim and replacement/refund process.
5. Return Policy for Collectors and Lapidary Rough
We want you to be completely satisfied with your specimen. We offer a 14-day return window from the date of delivery under the following conditions:
- Condition: The agate rock, polished slice, or cabochon must be returned in its exact original condition. We cannot accept returns on lapidary rough that has been cut, ground, knapped, or altered by the buyer.
- Shipping Costs: Unless the return is due to our error, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, including tracking and full insurance cover.
6. Intellectual Property & Photography Rights
All high-resolution macro photography, graphic elements, text descriptions, and branding assets on agaterock.com are the exclusive intellectual property of Agate Rock. Unauthorized reproduction or use of our stone images for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
7. Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with international commercial laws and ecommerce trade standards.
